Excellent season for Grizzlies

The Benoni Grizzlies Youth Rugby Clubs u-9 A and u-9 B teams recently played in their respective Valke Junior League finals at Bosman Stadium in Brakpan.

The u-9 B Benoni Grizzlies team placed third in their league. They are (from back): Shaun Kruger and Stephanus Visagie (coaches). Middle: Ferdi Smit, Sheldon Kruger, Cooper Reece, Hayden van der Heever, Shay Surics, JD Hattingh and Jordan Gregory. Front: Xavier Visagie, Lollos Slabbert, Matthew Venter, Tristan Wepener, Ethan Wepener, Miller Sadler, Hanru van Dyk and Ruben Grobler. Absent: Ethan Brothers, AJ Oeschger, Tristan Blignaut, Kiran Nunes, Rikoe Jansen and Cindy Visagie (team manager).

The u-9 A Grizzlies won the silver medal in their league while the u-9 B Grizzlies won bronze in their league.

Overall it was a good campaign for the Grizzlies.

Their u-10 team finished fourth overall in their league, the u-11s were league winners, the u-12s placed fourth overall, the u-13 and u-14 teams placed third overall in their leagues while the u-15 team claimed second in their league.
