Golden delight for Davis

Brendan Davis (13), a Grade Eight learner at Benoni High School, excelled at the South African Kickboxing National Championships held in Durban from April 28 to 30.

He won gold in point fighting and continuous fighting events in a highly contested division of under 52kg, 13- to 15-year-old boys.

Since 2014 Davis has won 13 national and three international titles.

He has represented South Africa in kickboxing, international sports karate and at the World Martial Arts Games.

He represents Eastern Gauteng and is instructed by sensei Ryan Phillips and shihan Raymond Phillips at Xtreme Kickboxing Technologies in Brakpan.
