Run, run, run at the Robor Scaffolding Marathon

The entries are flying in for this year’s freshly branded Robor Scaffolding Marathon, to be held on Sunday, April 23, and you need to be among them.

The popular local race, hosted by Benoni Northerns Athletic Club (BNAC), offers a 5km fun run, 10km, 21km half-marathon, 42km marathon and 50km ultra-marathon.

According to race organiser Jan Jordaan, 1 263 entries have been submitted via the website www.enteronline.co.za.

Online entries will close on Monday, April 17.

Late entries will be taken from 10am to 5pm at Benoni Northerns Sports Club on Saturday, April 22 and on Sunday morning before the race from 4.30am.

“I don’t know how many entries the different outlets (shops) have taken so far, but Sportsman’s Warehouse ran out of entries three times last week, indicating that the interest is huge,” he said.

“We have amended the route a bit, too.

“Seventy per cent of the route is still the same as in previous years.

“We are ready and extremely excited about the race.”

Jordaan called on the whole community to come out and support the Robor Scaffolding Marathon.

“If you are not a serious runner come down and walk or run the 5km and 10km distances,” he added.
