Open water swimmers fight for spots at national champs
The Gauteng Open Water Challenge, a provincial championship between long distance swimmers from Aquatics Gauteng’s four districts of Eastern Gauteng Aquatics, Central Gauteng Aquatics, Northern Tigers and Sedibeng, took place from the Benoni Sailing Club at Homestead Dam on Saturday, January 28 and Sunday, January 29.
From these championships a team is selected to represent the province at the South African Open Water National Championships in Port Elizabeth in March.
