Benoni bowlers battle in Christchurch

Thinus Oelofse, a member of Benoni Country Club’s bowling section, is representing the South Africa at the World Bowls Championships that are on the go in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Oelofse, a Rynfield resident, and fellow Benonian Colleen Piketh (also from Rynfield) are both in action at the World Championships, held from November 29 to December 11.

Their skills will truly be tested on the lightning-quick greens of Christchurch.

As the lead of the South African team, Oelofse delivered the first bowl of the championships for the country.
