Stewart is the top Gauteng junior at the Fish

The South African K1 River Championships, the Hansa Fish River Canoe Marathon, took place on the Fish River, on the weekend of Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8

A distance of some 80km from Grassridge Dam to Cradock, in the Eastern Cape.

Benoni’s Liam Stewart (17), of Ekurhuleni Kayak Club (ERK), was the top junior Gauteng finisher, the top u-18, the top ERK and the 42nd K1 (singles) finisher.

He also achieved a Top 50 finish position, which earned him a a silver medal, in a time of five hours and 38 minutes over the two days.
