Help the Dragons take on the world

The Thunder Dragons, a Last Man Stands (LMS) cricket side that plays in Benoni, played in the South African LMS Championships in Johannesburg in August.

The Thunder Dragons from Benoni are hoping to get to the LMS World Championships in Cape Town next year. They are Nico van Zyl (left), Ruaan Steyn, Ruan Kotze (captain), Anthony Kruger, Dillen Crouse, James de Nysschen, Justin Gamble, Andre Johnson and Lodie Greeff.

They made it to finals and narrowly lost by a few runs.

During the tournament they defeated former world number one side, the Bloem Rebels.

LMS cricket has over 90 000 players and 6 000 teams across 10 countries.

The team, rated 26th in the world, hopes to go to the LMS World Championships in Cape Town in 2017 and is hoping to get support from the Benoni community to make the trip possible.
