“This year has seen a revitalised interest in men’s hockey in the region and our league experienced a 50 per cent increase in team participation,” said EGHA president Chris Fall.
“The committee has been extremely excited by this boost and was impressed by the standard of hockey displayed over the season.
“The games have been fiercely contested and the camaraderie displayed has shown that Easterns are once again going to be a force to be reckoned with in the future.
“We were most fortunate to have access to three AstroTurf surfaces for the season, which resulted in the majority of the matches in the league being played on the synthetic surface.”
The results for the season are contained in the tables below, with the Hangovers (Benoni Northerns) reigning supreme in the top section, while the Kittens (Benoni Northerns) took honours in the lower tier.
Players and spectators alike are reminded that the annual “Crutch Tournament” will be held at the EGHA Astro on Sunday, September 25, starting at 8am.
