No faults at tennis tourney
The Daveyton Tennis Club Y-Tex Spring tournament came to the Gauteng East Tennis Centre in Lakefield from August 26 to Sunday, August 28.
According to Karl Liebenberg, title sponsor from Y-Tex, the tournament was once again a big success with all the finals producing excellent tennis from the players.
“We were especially pleased with the open division which was strongly contested by two local players from Gauteng East,” he said.
“The Daveyton Tennis Club Y-Tex tournament has become a favourite for many upcoming players, and we hope to continue building the competition and adding value to tennis in South Africa.”
Results from the tournament are:
• Boys: Singles u-10: 1 Tiaan Delport, 2 Arron van Eck. Singles u-12: 1 Jordan Georgiev, 2 Colby Paxinos. Singles u-14: 1 Dylon Salton, 2 Albert Kirsten. Doubles u-14: 1 Reuben du Toit and Francois van Wyk, 2 Aldan Coetzee and Josh Cronje. Singles u-16: 1 Derian Janeke, 2 Kian Steyn. Singles open: 1 Kevin Freel, 2 Andrew Freel.
• Girls: Singles u-10: 1 Danielle Chapman, 2 Karmen Schilz. Singles u-14: 1 Mikayla Plitt, 2 Chiara de Wet. Singles open: 1 Ashlee Andrew, 2 Mia Skrbimsek.
