New era has dawned for development rugby

Selected under-15 rugby players from the 48 schools involved in the Valke Rugby Union and South African Rugby Legends Association's (SARLA) Vuka League (for previously disadvantaged and township schools) turned out in six district teams during the first day of the Legends Cup on the fields of St Dunstan's College on Saturday, August 20.

The best players from the Legends Cup will be selected for a provincial developmental side, to participate in the Iqhawe Week development rugby tournament, in Cape Town.

Senior and u-20 club matches were also played at the field on the Saturday.

Matches will continue this weekend, Saturday at the school, thereafter the provincial Iqhawe Week team will be announced.
