Their opponents in the next five weeks include current table-toppers Luso Africa, archrivals Old Bens, Olympia, Randburg and Robertsham.
They will be hoping to build on their 3-1 victory picked up on Saturday, August 13, against Kempton Park at Northern Areas where they fielded a depleted and makeshift side that included a number of young players, but still got a winning result.
This follows a 4-2 home defeat against Highlands Park on Women’s Day on Tuesday, August 9.
Van den Berg described the game as “scrappy”, but added that given the circumstances it was a good result where the youngsters stepped up to the plate.
“We are in for a difficult month ahead and this is when we will see if the hard work put in during pre-season will pay off,” said the coach.
“Attention now turns to Luso who we expect will play with a lot of gusto.”
That match will be played at Northerns at 3.30pm on Saturday, August 20.
