The event marks and celebrates the long-time rivalry and friendly relationship between the two Benoni-based clubs.
Two full fields occupied the two Northmead greens and a pleasant day of lawn bowling was enjoyed by all those who participated.

What makes this competition different to most is that the losing team gets to keep the undesirable “Rusty Nail” plate.
This year it will be Northmead who will once again have to display the unwelcome plate in their bar for another 365 days after their visitors dominated the morning matches.
