New experience for Nienaber

Benoni’s Jaycee Nienaber competed in the fourth round of the Gauteng Xross Country Club (GXCC) Championship, at Lekoa Lodge, just outside Villiers, recently.

This was Nienaber’s first race for his new team, Super Moose Racing, and he was on a new bike, the KTM 350 he received only a few days before the race.

He was involved in a battle for first position in class and first place overall throughout the race.

A small mistake in the pits, however, cost him some time, which resulted in him achieving a second place in the championship class and second overall, a mere 23 seconds between him and first position.

The KTM suited his riding style and Nienaber is positive about upcoming races.

He will compete in the Botswana Desert Race, at the end of June, in Jwaneng, Botswana.

This will be the third and fourth rounds of the National Off-Road Championship series for the year. Nienaber won the first round, which was held in Vryburg, in March, but could not finish the second round in Dundee, Kwa-Zulu Natal, in May, as a result of mechanical problems.

With a new racing team and brand, he is excited about the rest of the year.
