Bens bounce back brilliantly

After the disappointment of the Derby Day defeat to arch rivals Benoni Northerns, last weekend, Old Bens Football Club’s first XI returned to winning ways with a 5-0 victory. at home to Boksburg on Saturday, May 28.

Despite a number of missed chances in the opening stages of their ELFA Super League match, at home to Boksburg, on Saturday, May 28, it would be striker Lesiba Modau who gave Bens a 1-0 halftime advantage.

In the second period, Ludick Malele doubled the lead after converting from the penalty spot.

Modau converted another two goals to, remarkably, ensure his third hat trick of the season, while Zaza Radebe made it five goals to nothing.

The team will be striving to secure a similar result away to Corinthians, on Saturday, June 4.

• Meanwhile, the Old Bens Reserve XI remained in the Top Five of their league with a 3-2 win over Boksburg.
