Bens keep churning out the wins

The excellent form continues for coach Raymond Cloete and his Old Bens Football Club first XI.

Cloete’s men achieved another victory on Saturday, May 14, this time at home to Zwide United.

Both sides were put to the test in wet and cold conditions in their ELFA Super League clash, but it would be the men in Old Bens black and gold who left Currin Park with smiling faces after a 4-0 win.

Percy Visagie opened the scoring for Bens in the first half and the play intensified.

In the second stanza Zwide had some good opportunities to equalise, but their efforts were well kept out by Old Bens goalkeeper and eventual man of the match Dale Skinner.

Zwide appeared to take their foot off the pedal and when Lesiba Modau was brought down in the penalty area Ludick Malele doubled the host side’s advantage.

He soon added a third goal followed by a late fourth from Modau who continues his sublime scoring form.

The team was scheduled to play Luso Africa away from home in the ELFA Cup on the night of Wednesday, May 18 before the Benoni Derby league match on Saturday, May 21.
