Things are looking up for the Daveyton Golf Club

There is good and positive news coming out of Daveyton Golf Club.

Their recent woes have seemingly taken a turn for the better.

According to executive committee member Pule Taunyane, the Ekurhuleni Metro has stepped up the maintenance of the golf course since recent articles highlighting the conditions and maintenance problems at the course by the metro appeared in the City Times.

“The metro is seriously giving attention to the course and we thank them for that,”  Taunyane said.

“The fairways and greens are now playable.”

This means that the club is finally able to host a sponsored, fund-raising golf day – which was initially delayed in March, due to the ailing conditions – on Saturday, April 30.

The Benetton Insurance Brokers Golf Day (hosted by Errol Civin) will raise funds to upgrade the clubhouse and assist with youth development programmes at Daveyton Golf Club.

Golfers are invited to take part and play a role in the growth of the game in the township.

The tournament will be played in Betterball Stableford format, with tee-off times (per pair) from 8am to 9am.
