Actonville make it two on the trot

Actonville Spurs Cricket Club’s (ASCC) Premier XI enjoyed a second straight win on the bounce,with a crushing 123-run win at Willowmoore Park B, on Sunday, February 28, in an Eastern Premier League encounter with KwaThema.

Batting first, Kyle Degambur’s side were bowled all out for 199 runs in the 48th over.

Ridwaan Daya was the star of the show, notching up 86 runs at the crease.

Young all-rounder Mekyle Pillay was the next highest scoring willow-wielder, with a tally of 38.

Moses Ditle (3/25 in eight overs) was the best of the KwaThema bowlers, followed by Mpho Mguni (3/28 in 5.2 overs).

When KwaThema went in to bat they managed to frustrate Actonville in the field for 40.1 overs, with very few runs posted.

They were bowled all out for a paltry 76, to give ASCC the win.

Daya followed on from his exploits with the bat and also impressed with the ball.

He bagged figures of 3/17 in 10 overs, while Wilber van Dyk (3/2 in 4.1 overs) and Pillay (2/8 in six overs) also bowled well.

Actonville will travel to Barnard Stadium on Sunday, March 6, for a tough clash against Kempton Park Cricket Club.
