It’s a springy September and the sporting calendar has gone into full throttle mode.

With the sunny weather comes some exciting sporting events.

There’s also some awesome international sport on the telly.

Don’t forget, the Rugby World Cup kicks off next week (happy dance)!

There’s also the classic English Premier League clash between Manchester United and Liverpool (serious business!) tomorrow night!

Exciting times for any sport-obsessed individual indeed.

My camera’s shutter is going to be working overtime in the next few weeks out in the field, while my typing fingers will definitely get some intensive exercise as I relay the many stories back to you.

This weekend in particular is certainly going to be a humdinger.

On Saturday (tomorrow), it’s every Benonian’s favourite football game – the infamous “Benoni Derby” between the first teams of Old Bens and Benoni Northerns football clubs, which is guaranteed to generate extreme passion and emotion.

Regardless of league positions, this is as big as it gets at local club football level!

So, I’ll see you all at Old Bens at 3.30pm tomorrow for some feisty footie!

With the football season wrapping up at the end of the month, the local club cricket season returns and I am so eager to see which Eastern Cricket Union team will be packing their bags for National Club Champs in April next year.

Then, on Sunday, I am going to find myself behind the steering wheel of a kart at the annual Kiehl’s Cheetah Charity Kart Racing Day at Zwartkops Karting Track with Benoni local motorsport heroine Clare Vale.

My friends will tell you… Logan behind the steering wheel of anything with an engine is pretty darn frightening.

But, jokes aside it’s a terrific initiative where funds are raised to supplement and support the brilliant work being done at the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre.
