De Kock recently found himself dropped from the Proteas side after a run of bad form with the willow, but soon got himself back into the selectors’ good books with three centuries for the South Africa A team on their tour of India.
New Easterns head coach André Nel will be thrilled to have a player of De Kock’s calibre in his mix, as he gets his semi-professional coaching career off to a start.
Easterns, who are to be skippered by Benoni Northerns Cricket Club amateur player Ernest Kemm, will host Pool A of the tournament at their Willowmoore Park headquarters, and will play against Northerns, Western Province and Zimbabwe, from Friday, September 4, to Sunday, September 6.
The pool winners will go through to the knock-out phase.
Easterns get the tournament underway on September 4, with a day/night clash against Western Province.
The first ball will be bowled at 6pm and tickets will be available at the gate.
