Benoni Northerns Football Club’s (BNFC) first XI bounced back from a disappointing 2-1 defeat in the ELFA Super Cup, against Bedfordview Country Club (BCC), on Wednesday, July 29, to achieve a third consecutive league win away against Edenvale, on Saturday, August 1.

The ELFA Super League win, which was wrapped up by a late Skyeler van den Berg goal in the second half, continues the good momentum in the latter stages of the campaign for the Northerns team.

Coach Jannie van den Berg said the clash was extremely competitive and both sides were totally committed to getting a good result.

“The players we fielded all equipped themselves well, particularly in defence,” he added.

The win sees Northerns now tied on points with local rivals Old Bens in the league; however, Bens have the better goal difference.

BNFC will host Germiston on Saturday, August 8, at home.
