Mountain bike race supports charity

It’s almost time to oil that bicycle chain, put on that helmet and start pedalling.

The Transvaal Galvanisers Mountain Bike Race will take place on Sunday, September 6, in Dalpark Extension One, at the Van Dyk Dam opposite Carnival City, and all mountain bike riders are urged to get on board.

All proceeds of this year’s ride will go to the Apricot Tree School for stimulation and development of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

There will be 50km, 35km and 10km races.

Non-licensed riders will need to purchase a Cycling South Africa (CSA) day licence.

The event will take place regardless of the weather conditions.

A unique experience of this race is the floating bridge over the dam, which proved to be a big hit last year.
