Easterns acknowledges stars of the season

The Eastern Cricket Union held their annual awards evening at The Classic India in Boksburg, on Wednesday, May 27.

Benoni Northerns Cricket Club (BNCC) picked up the trophies for winning the Saturday Third League, Colts League and Premier League competitions.

The Premier T20 “Battle of the Roses” competition was won by Grant’s Giants, skippered by Grant Thomson, while BNCC bowler Stefano di Bartolomeo received the award for the Top Bowler during the Battle of the Roses tournament.

Actonville Spurs Cricket Club shared the award for administration excellence with Boksburg Cricket Club while John Mmoloa was named as the Umpire of the Year.

Hoërskool Hans Moore was recognised as the Top High School.

Sibongile Makamo was named as the Women’s Player of the Year.

Thomson was named the Semi-Pro Player of the Year, while Northerns all-rounder Ernest Kemm was named as the Semi-Pro Players’ Player of the Year.
