Tembisa trounce Actonville

After a terrific end to the first half of the Eastern Premier League, Actonville Spurs Cricket Club’s Premier XI have not been enjoying life in the second portion of the campaign.

Their recent problems were highlighted again on Sunday, March 1, when they were put to the sword by a visiting Tembisa outfit.

After losing the toss, the away side put their opponents in to bat and regular wickets tumbled from the outset.

Michael Enslin (37) batted quite well in the middle overs, and Clayton August (37 not out) did reasonably well with the lower order to muster a total of 160.

Tembisa’s best bowler was Israel Hlengani (3/22).

Tembisa’s batsmen came hard and aggressively at Actonville’s bowlers and scored at a good run rate.

They chased down the score in an innings where they lost only six wickets, to win by four wickets.

Their top batsman was Hlengani (42) and Sphamabdla Dapo (47 not out), while Xolile Nkomo (2/15) was the best of the home side’s bowlers.
