Watch out for falling cricket balls

It's going to be raining sixes and fours in Benoni.

The Unlimited Titans will play two Ram Slam T20 Challenge matches, against the Bizhub Highveld Lions, Friday, November 21 and against the Sunfoil Dolphins on Wednesday, November 26, at Willowmoore Park.

The Titans have not had a good start to the campaign, having lost all five of the matches they have played so far.

Not even the acquisition of influential West Indies all-rounder Darren Sammy (who has been made Titans captain) has been enough to ensure at least one victory.

With talented West Indians in mind, local cricket lovers will be hoping to see the big-hitting Chris Gayle turn out for the Lions at Willowmoore Park on Friday, but with the “Gayle Force” sitting out of his team’s last encounter against the Cape Cobras, due to a back problem, there are doubts that he will play.

In the second Willowmoore Park fixture, Sammy and the Titans will welcome the Dolphins to Benoni and spectators will get a glimpse of Dwayne Bravo, yet another star West Indian who is plying his trade in the domestic T20 competition.

One thing that has made this year’s Ram Slam T20 Challenge exciting is the introduction of the Ram “Win your share of a R1 million” Competition, for televised matches, where spectators can win a share of a R1-m should they take a clean one-handed catch off a six.

The competition is not applicable to non-televised matches and therefore will not apply to Friday’s match between the Titans and the Lions, however, the competition will be in effect during the televised match between the Titans and Dolphins on November 26.

Both matches will start at 6pm.
