Indians too strong for Giants

Benoni Northerns Indians Ball Club’s Major A baseball team was looking to bounce back from a 9-2 defeat by big rivals Boksburg Cardinals, on Sunday, October 26, and that is exactly what coach Ashley Scott’s men did last Sunday, November 2.

The Indians hosted Edenvale Giants 2 in their third game of the Summer Ball season and dominated the game from start to finish, with a 10-2 win.

According to Scott, it was a completely different display from the team to their performance in Boksburg.

“All of our batters, from the top of the line up to the bottom of the line up, hit really well,” he said.

Richard Scrooby again showcased his hitting talent, scoring his second home run of the season during the game.

The coach also had praise for pitcher Jarryd Ebersohn, who struck out 12 hitters in six innings.

“I am impressed with the overall attitude of the team and with the way they played,” he added.
