Benoni Homing Society basketed their pigeons for their third official race.
The race took place from Bloemfontein, 250km away, on Saturday, June 21.
The young birds were liberated at 8.45am and the old birds at 9.30am.
Gert de Necker/Joe Gomes won the young bird race, clocking at 1.39.19pm, at a velocity of 1,331.656mpm.
The old (open) bird race was won by Out of Africa Lofts, clocking at 2.16.22pm, at a velocity of 1,332.936mpm.
The top five results from the Bloemfontein race are:
- Young bird results: 1 G de Necker/J Gomes 1,331.656mpm, 2 Frik and Colyn Nel 1,330.891mpm, 3 RA Gullet 1,329.047mpm, 4 Andries Small 1,327.536mpm, 5 Stuart Crellin 1,326.475mpm.
