Lovgren jumps to new heights

Forrest Lovgren (17), riding Trevan Copocabana for Fifth Avenue Equestrian Centre has been stealing the show at recent events.

Lovgren participated in the Young Riders Grand Prix at the Easter Festival held at Kyalami Park over the Easter weekend.

There were nine clear rounds going forward into the jump-off out of 42 riders who came from every province in South Africa, and out of the nine rounds there was only one double clear round, being Lovgren and Trevan Copocabana.

This achievement meant that the showjumper won the class.

Following this Easter victory Lovgren kept up her winning ways by winning the overall Victor Ludorum title at the Young Riders Derby at Kyalami Park over the weekend.

Trevan Copocabana, being a thoroughbred, competed against many of the country’s top imported warmbloods and performed exceptionally well.

Lovgren will now be preparing for the world cup qualifiers at Maple Ridge Equestrian Farm in a few weeks time.
