Cedars’ SAFA u-15s on top
Benoni Cedars Football Club’s u-15 SAFA Ekurhuleni League team is top of the table after a 7-0 demolition of Inter Milan Academy in their second league game on Monday, April 28, at Springs Industrial Army Base.
This comes after they received all three points (a 3-0 win) when their opposition, Junior Aces FC, forfeited their first match on Saturday, April 26.
A friendly was arranged with Edenvale FC’s u-17 team and Cedars defeated them 3-2.
The team’s next fixture will take place against Katlehong Stars Academy on Saturday, May 3.
“It is nice for the team to be playing against some new competition after winning the Easterns Super League for four consecutive years, as well as the cup three times in recent years,” said Wesley White, coach of the team.
“It is a great achievement for the team to reach this league without even being a recognised academy outfit.”
