No cricket at Willowmoore

The rainy weather that has fallen on Benoni in recent weeks has not been helpful to those who play cricket.

Day one and day two of the Sunfoil Series four-day match Unlimited Titans and the Sunfoil Dolphins at Willowmoore Park have been abandoned as a result of a wet outfield.

Play was abandoned on the first two days of the scheduled Sunfoil Series four-day match between the Unlimited Titans and the Sunfoil Dolphins on Thursday, March 13, and Friday, March 14, due to a wet and soggy outfield at Willowmoore Park.

A decision will be taken tomorrow morning (Saturday, March 15) by match officials to see if the match will be abandoned in its entirety.

With the region receiving a considerable amount of rain the drainage at the ground failed to deal with the quantity of water.

The Dolphins are currently third on the Sunfoil Series table, and will have been disappointed to lose two days in a match where they need to enforce a result if they are to keep pace with the top two.
