Smith leads championship

Benoni’s Slade Smith is on a high after a solid performance in the fourth round of the South African National WOMZA Supermoto Championship, at the AMID Show, at Nasrec, on Sunday, August 11, in the S4 Class, on his Mailwise International Honda.

Slade Smith is the overall leader of the WOMZA Supermoto Championship, which moves into round five, in September.

The S4 Class proved to be an exciting two-way battle between Smith and Greg Bradfield, from East London.

After posting the fastest lap time in qualifying, Smith started first on the gride.

He was great on the startsand this was the formula for his success.

He won the first two heats and was leading heat three when he went down.

He remounted to finish second, a place that was good enough for the Benonian to secure the overall win for the day.

This means that his overall lead in the WOMZA Supermoto Championship continues to grow.

Smith now has his sights set on round five, in early September, when he will be hoping to continue with his winning form.
