The City Times put up a post on April 1 to catch up with the community during the lockdown period and we received numerous comments from our readers.

Phachane Tabola is using this time to cook for the needy and create awareness of Covid-19.

Karen Steyn Barnard had a knee replacement and found comfort in Debi Leslie, whose husband also underwent knee surgery a week before Barnard.

Most people are cleaning, cooking and studying, and it was great to see everyone commenting on each other’s posts in agreement.

Theresa Mariuzzi said: Working from home, teaching, cleaning, need to get back to the office for a break.

To which she received a few giggles from fellow Benonians, agreeing to need a break at work:

• Lolo Boya: Working from six to six, it’s better to be at work.

Michelle Brits is watching movies, sleeping, cleaning, and relaxing.

“Actually enjoying the break,” she said.

But she lives alone, so she misses her family.

Patience Pupu Mpambo, on the other hand, received many laughing reactions on her comment, saying that she is annoyed by her needy husband.

And Samantha Hall said: Working, baking, cleaning, exercising, relaxing, spending time with my fellow inmates….

(We hope she is talking about her family).

Apart from all the chores Charity Thando Noluthando is doing at home, she also managed to use this time to start a vegetable garden.

Alloutte Mendes decided to be a friendly neighbour: playing music from our balcony for the neighbourhood and heath workers every night at 8pm… Oh and working.

Precious Mfeka is not experiencing the lockdown at all: Working, my job doesn’t allow me to stay at home.

And neither are these people:

• Zandra Riddle: Working. No time to relax on lockdown.

• Themba Vusi Sambo: Trying to save my company from closing down.

• Dezray Jansen Van Vuuren: Working.

While some are quite enjoying the break:

• Xoliswa Masondo: Enjoying my new-born baby.

• Christine Sandford: Baking different treats for the family.

• Shelter Shonhiwa Mambariza: Wall art with my kids.

Not forgetting our teachers who are at home, one of whom is a Tom Newby teacher who is using this time to plan for the next term.
