Thank you to the nurses

Nurses are like mothers or fathers who look after us in hospitals and then they go home to look after their own families.

With Mother’s Day coming up on May 12, I would like to draw attention to International Nurses Day happening on the same day.

My best friend’s mother is a nurse and she works shifts that would tire anyone out. I get tired just thinking about how much she works and when she mentions the kind of patients that she deals with, it breaks my heart to hear that some people are so ungrateful for the services provided.

After a long shift, she goes home to cook for her family and tend to daily house chores.

Despite never having a minute, she is always creating a moment.

I call myself a grateful child in this letter because she may be my best friend’s mother, but she loves me as her own, and I have seen that she treats all the children in the paediatric ward like her own too.

To all the nurses out there who work tirelessly at work and still go home to be a good wife or husband, mother or father, daughter or son and friend – I salute you.
