Yes, my dear fellow Benonians, our CBD is now officially a sh*thole.
A drive through this once great part of Benoni proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the CBD is inhabited by pigs masquerading as humans.
Trash and filth lay strewn across pavements and street corners, overturned bins and black bags oozing noxious contents.
This is purgatory but you need not cross over to the other side – just drive up or down Voortrekker and surrounding streets and you are in hell.
You will not see cauldrons with lost souls in them, but you will find these misguided souls loitering on street corners, in an inebriated state, making a nuisance of themselves.
Our esteemed city manager and mayor, some time ago, promised a massive clean-up of the streets and an upgrade of the CBD infrastructure.
Well, it seems their promises have come to naught.
Obviously, there is insufficient will and discipline by these office bearers to get the job done.
So resign so that an autocratic disciplinarian takes over the reigns and enforces law, order and civility.
Clearly, the current crop has no clue what to do and a once magnificent town wallows in poop.
