For years I have noticed a severe lack of filter lanes to the left at major points in Benoni.

Two examples will suffice: The left turn from O’Reilly Merry Street into 14th Avenue and, on the same road, the turn into Oak Street.
This creates huge bottlenecks.
Filter lanes could solve this.
