Traffic wardens are needed

One non-functioning traffic light at the corner of Mercury Street and Atlas Road recently caused a back-up as far as the eye could see, when heading towards Boksburg.

Why was it such an issue?

Because instead of sending out a traffic officer to help direct traffic, you are left to sit in traffic for hours, which leads to people being late for work.

The frustration could’ve been avoided by one traffic officer doing his job.

But no, they are sitting behind cameras, trapping you for speeding because you were stuck at one broken traffic light.

Or worse, they fine you at an intersection for not stopping or going out of turn, which I witnessed them doing at a dangerous intersection in Brakpan.

This leads to upsetting already angry people.

Speed does kill but so does a complete lack of law on the roads and total disrespect for fellow road users.
