Noise irks resident

I wish to object to the excessive loud music at the Lakes Hotel and Conference Centre we have to put up with this year.

It has really gone over the top.

I understand it is a club and that water carries the sounds far. However, the noise levels have gone way beyond the most irritating standards we have had to put up with to date.

People want to complain about a peacock, which is only looking for a mate, but the nightclub makes it a living hell.

We live in Windemere Drive alongside the N12 and opposite the clubs.

I attached a recording made in the bedroom of our house of the music being played.

You can imagine how loud it must be to be able to have such a clear recording.

Surely there are laws against this abuse?

And if you try to phone them, you guessed right, it does not get answered.

They can probably not hear the phone ring.

Editor’s note:

Tanya Savva, director of the Lakes Hotel and Conference Centre, replies:

“Please note we are a hotel establishment with all our legal certificates in place.

“We have hotel guests as well as families who come to our hotel restaurants.

“We are not a nightclub as the complainant claims.

“We utilise a noise decibel reader to keep our noise levels within the legal limit.

“However, please note that there are properties adjacent to our hotel that also play music until the early hours of the morning, and as far as we know, they are not allowed to do so.”
