No need to visit Northmead Square

Manny de Jesus, of Northmead, writes:

I am very disappointed now that the post office has left the Northmead Square.

Send your letters to bctletters@caxton.co.za

The collection point for collecting letters is in Ampthill Avenue.

This is unacceptable, as there is a post office at Lakeside Mall.

Why do we have to go all the way to Ampthill Avenue?

With the post office and Nedbank moving out of the Square, I have no need to go there anymore, and will rather go to Checkers at Lakeside Mall.

Do the people responsible for the Square know what they are doing?

It would be so nice if the bank moved back to the Northmead Mall.

The situation is disappointing for Northmead residents.

Editor’s note: Pearl Sekgobela, marketing and centre manager at the Northmead Square, replies: “The post office has been temporarily closed owing to the revamp of their store that is in progress, but the circumstance that our customers still require this service has been put into consideration from the commencement of the refurbishment.

“Temporary post boxes have been placed at the parking lot (at the far end near bus stop shelters) with individual markings of each customer’s post box number.

“The post office service continues to run as per usual, with post being delivered to the said post boxes.

“The post office and Nedbank will not vacate the centre.

“For any further enquiries regarding post box location, kindly contact 011 425 5541 for further assistance.”
