Children come to dog’s rescue

On Sunday (June 12) late afternoon I stopped my car alongside three young boys who had surrounded a dog that was lying against a church wall in Actonville, on a very busy street.

As it turned out the poor animal was heavily pregnant and in pain, which was made worse by the chilly weather.

These three good-hearted souls brought a blanket from home and provided water and food for the dog.

They also brought some cheese for it.

I called the SPCA’s emergency number and within 30 minutes Seun (an appropriate name) was at the scene.

The dog had been lying there since early morning and it is just amazing that it took three young boys to attend to the situation.

So, well done to all who came to the poor animal’s rescue and may God bless you all.
