Dogs give you a message

Rob writes:

I’m not a Benoni resident, but I often read the City Times and was drawn to the subject of barking dogs.

It always surprises me when people complain about petty things like dogs barking, even though it may be important to them.

Let me enlighten the people with regard to barking dogs.

When a dog barks it is communicating with you and telling you a story, and a person should listen to it.

I have come to know my neighbours’ dogs and appreciate what they tell me from time to time.

Each bark is different and you should get to know what it means, because it could very well save your life.

There is a tone in the bark of a dog when another dog or animal is in the area, which is different from the bark when a person is in the area.

It differs from when a person is passing by or loitering.

Then again, it differs from when a person approaches your gate and when an animal does the same.

There is a distinction when a person enters the gate and approaches the door, in likewise fashion when the security of your home is breeched.

In these modern times, stop complaining and get to know what the animal is telling you because no dog will simply just bark for no reason at all.
