‘Good service is good business’

Logan Green, journalist, writes

When I was a general news reporter I often took what we call “consumer complaints” with a pinch of salt and swiftly diverted the complainant to the relevant consumer body (as local press we don’t actually handle those kinds of complaints due to limited staff and legal backing etc).

I mean, we have all got something to complain about when it comes to spending our money, right?

Indeed.

We work hard for our few Madibas every month and we deserve to get full reward and faultless service when we purchase something.

I’ve never really been one to complain about service.

I usually cringe in the corner when someone Bs and Ms about service at a restaurant, but I fully understand the frustrations.

It’s a dog eat dog world and bad word of mouth (particularly in a smallish place like Benoni) can make or break your business in this town.

So, why am I saying this?

Well, if you have followed my Tweets this week @logankgreen, you will notice that I have been going full throttle at a mobile network service provider and an agency for a service that I to date have still not received.

In this modern technological age to be without connectivity is virtually disabling and immeasurably frustrating.

Anyway, check out those Tweets to see what I mean.

I think the moral of this story is: “good service is good business”
