In support of the residents of Airfield

Family Jackson, Benoni Small Farms, writes by email:

Re: Airfield Phil Erasmus Park:

In support of the residents of Airfield, the Jackson family is fully behind them in their objections to the building of townhouses on the Phil Erasmus Park.

Parks are parks and are needed and utilised in cities all over the world.

What right does this so-called council of ours in Benoni have to take the law into their own hands and sell this park land to developers?

I know… to make more money to spend and spend and spend at their will, and the devastation of our beautiful (well, it was…) city.

We will swear on oath that we have never been made aware of any evidence to substantiate the Ekurhuleni council’s statement that they gave the residents of Airfield or indeed of Benoni (or in a notice in City Times or any other newspaper) notice about this development.

We firmly oppose the so-called development and assure you that we cannot see any legality to the so-called agreement allowing the developers to start work.
