Make every day a special day

I hope so.
I cringe when I see Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Valentine’s Day on the calendar.
Not only does a hole start to burn in my wallet, but I’m irked by how commercialised the days are.
They are intended to commemorate our parents and loved ones, but I always feel the need to splurge out on money to show my appreciation to the person concerned.
I also feel that it’s the one day where I need to be on my best behaviour and do everything I can to alleviate the stress on my parents and better half.
Am I the only one?
Should we not boycott these days and show our appreciation to our better halves, mother and father on every other day?
