Unknown stranger gives the gift of life

A grateful recipient writes by email:

Some time ago, I was admitted to one of our local hospitals for a blood transfusion.

I am a lady in my 70s and this was a totally new experience for me as I had never had a transfusion before.

As I lay there, watching the life-giving blood slowly passing down the tube into my body, I could only feel absolute amazement and wonderment, that somewhere out there, some total stranger had voluntarily donated their blood to help people like myself.

And that here I was, also a complete stranger to that person, receiving their blood.

I can only say a grateful and sincere thank you to all those blood donors out there, God bless you.

I hope some of you read my letter and, if you have never thought of becoming a donor, and would like to do something for your fellow man, maybe think about becoming a donor.
