Retina South Africa would like to thank the cyclists and helpers from Benoni who made the 27th Dis-Chem Ride for Sight such a success.
The event was held on Sunday January 15 and 5 400 cyclists participated, raising a significant amount which goes directly to finding treatments for retinal blinding conditions.
Benonians who were involved in the organisation were:
Margeret Pappas – Red Cross, Stew Siddall – marshal convenor, Terry Youens – site management, Mervyn van Reenen – marshall feeding.
Volunteers from Aurora Rotary Club, Van Ryn Rotary and Benoni Host Lions assisted with marshalling and Retina South Africa would like to thank all of these volunteers for their dedication in assisting in the fight against retinal blindness.
