Tired, just tired

With the year coming to an end, I am not coping with all the things I have on my plate quite as easily, lacking the necessary energy.

I am working full-time, studying part-time, currently in my exam time, almost at the second level in my guitar lessons and going to gym everyday.

With this I am also attempting to please my loved ones by giving them a fair share of my time.

I know there are many others who feel the same way, especially matriculants who are pushing through the final stretch in their end exams.

Being too stubborn to give up any of the activities that occupy my life I am encouraging both you and myself to just bite the bullet and finish what we have started.

I don’t know if this end-of-the-year exhaustion is simply a thing of the mind, but it has been getting the better of many people year in and year out.

The best way to cope, in my experience, is to get plenty of sleep, eat healthily and stay away from foods that have you feeling sluggish and hog all your energy.

Getting a bit of exercise regularly boosts your brain and gives you that fresh feeling to keep going.

Consult a pharmacist about a good multi-vitamin on the market – even though you have only been taking that because your mom told you to all your life, they are packed with nutrients that your body needs to produce energy.

Finally, prioritise; plan your days and make sure you keep up with your schedule and do not forget to motivate yourself, because you are doing it for yourself.

Hang in there; the upcoming holiday is the reward that awaits you.TB
