Elderly man punched in the face

Mary writes by email:

On Monday, July 14, at 10.10am, I witnessed the most cruel road-rage incident on Great North Road at the robot at the corner of Webb Street.

As I approached the robot, three men in a black car got out of their vehicle and the driver, with rage and anger, started hitting the driver’s window of the car behind him. (A white Mercedes with an elderly driver.)

I was in the next lane and then saw him boxing the elderly man repeatedly in the face through the window.

I drove my car as close as I could to the brute from the black car and hooted non-stop to try and distract him from his attack.

The three men got back in the black car and sped away.

In the chaos on the busy road I failed to get his number plate.

To the gentleman in the white Mercedes: I am so sorry, you must have been absolutely traumatised.

To the man in the black car: absolute shame on you. How can you live with yourself?
