Don’t let criminals win

Re: I vote against closure.

The above letter reminded me that I also voted against the closure at the very first meeting held about same, some 15 years ago.

My husband and I sat in the front of the school hall and, when time came to vote, I stood up and said I was against ANY closures.

This was some 15 years ago.

I told them my son, my first husband’s second wife, the sister of my present husband’s ex-wife and a friend had all been murdered during 1995.

Between our family we had had 13 break-ins and three hijacks, BUT I still loved South Africa.

High walls and locking suburbs like jails are not the answer … that was letting criminals win.

We must change our attitude and trust in the Higher Power.

PS. The people at that meeting booed me.
