Let’s commend the good service

"Very Happy with Service" writes by email:

With reference to the article in the Benoni City Times of October 25, numerous residents complained about bad service, calls not answered, etc.

I would, just for the record, state our experiences with various departments of the metro to the contrary:

We live on Pretoria Road and, over the last couple years, have

a) had a tree fall over onto our boundary wall in the middle of the night after a storm, knocking down power lines. Within an hour after calling the call centre number (past midnight), the fire brigade, paramedics and electricity department were on the scene and working to solve the problem.

b) had an electrical problem after the fierce hail storm last year and, once again, the electrical department responded within the hour.

c) most recently, reported a water leak on the sidewalk by our water meter on a Friday afternoon at about 14.15pm, and by 4.35pm the water department arrived and worked till after dark to fix the problem.

So we would like to give a big thumbs up to all the wonderful workers at the council who go the extra mile to make these experiences tolerable !
