Sweet! Wine fest ready to spring into your social calendar – again!

Look out for a competition on the Benoni City Times website to win tickets to the BenVino Spring Wine Fest!

Benoni was first in line with a wine festival for the East Rand in June and now, just to brag, they’re doing it again.

Yes, back by popular demand, the BenVino Spring Wine Festival will be overflowing with fun for all on September 14.

The hosts and organisers, Morehill’s very own Val Di Terra tasting room and boutique wine store, say the June 8 event was such a hit they would be amiss not to repeat the festival.

An even better blooming good time awaits because the weather has cheered up, so there’s no excuse to miss this one, to which, said Doug Cresswell of Val Di Terra, they hope to attract at least 900 people.

“Apart from the first BenVino having been an incredible success with a crowd of 500 wine lovers converging on the venue, we know East Randers love good wine.

“It is our privilege to again welcome an array of prestigious wine farms to Benoni and, excitedly, 12 of these are newcomers to our festival.”

The wine estates visitors can mingle with and learn all about bouquet, body, texture and all other good things wine from, include Mulderbosch, Mont Rochelle, Springfield, Vergelegen, Rustenburg, Post House and Boekenhoutskloof, among many others.

“Be assured there will be no plonk served here!” Doug adds.

And, as the perfect pairing for the day, local performances by Karen Botha and Rewind, jumping castle for the kiddies, street food stalls, beer, gin and champagne on tap and wine-related merchandise on sale.

Val Di Terra is also proud to again be supporting three charities – Pug Rescue (they will present their own brand of wine made by Swartland and have some of their pugs there too), RAW (Recycling for Animal Welfare), Benoni Lakes Lions Club.
