Sensei Raveen Dayaram of the Lotus Karate Club said he is extremely of proud of his karateka for their achievement during the Tigers Traditional Tournament on August 19 at Jonibach Sport Centre in Pretoria.
Dayaram thanked the students for representing the club with distinction after returning home with a total of 15 medals, including four awarded to the newbies for taking part in the competition, as a sign of encouragement.
They collected eight bronze, five silver and two gold medals.
The winners were as follows:
• Trishul Dayaram (bronze; kata, bronze; kumite, and participation)
• Precious Tshazi (silver; kata, silver; kumite and participation)
• Akhanya Setshedi (bronze; kata, bronze; kumite and participation)
• Krishthi Singh (gold; kata and bronze; kumite)

• Medha Singh (silver; kata and bronze; kumite)
